This webinar will teach attendees why Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a critical benefit for children and youth in foster care with disabilities. Experts from Bay Area Legal Aid and Youth Law Center will provide information about SSI benefits and how to access them, focusing on building a strong application and best practices for representing youth seeking to establish eligibility. In addition, this training will highlight SSI eligibility and county screening requirements, and recent changes in law designed to improve foster youth access to SSI.
