AB 260 (Chapter 578, Statutes of 2021) added new requirements to ensure that parties in probate guardianship cases are informed about the available options and resources, and clarified the process by which a probate court may refer matters to the child welfare agency and juvenile dependency court.

In this webinar, panelists from the Alliance for Children’s Rights and the Judicial Council of California discuss:

  • An overview of court systems that affect the care and custody of children in California;

  • Challenges that arise in navigating different court systems and agencies;

  • A summary of AB 260 and accompanying administrative guidance and court forms; and

  • Practice tips for youth, families, and advocates.

The Alliance for Children’s Rights protects the rights of impoverished, abused and neglected children and youth.
