Counties have an exciting opportunity to address a pervasive problem with foster parent recruitment and retention through the recent adoption of the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program.
With passage of SB 89, California has allocated $15.5 million for the second half of fiscal year 2017-18 and $31 million ongoing for counties to utilize to provide emergency child care vouchers to families who would otherwise be unable to accept placement of a child in their home.
