Alejandra Sacio

Communications Director

Alejandra Sacio (she/her) serves as the Communications Director at the Alliance for Children’s Rights. Throughout her career, she has focused on amplifying the voices of vulnerable populations and utilizing strategic communications to drive social change and promote equity for historically marginalized communities. Alejandra is responsible for overseeing all communications efforts at the Alliance, and she develops and implements strategies to advance the organization’s mission to protect the rights and well-being of youth.

With more than seventeen years of experience in marketing and communications, including twelve years dedicated to social impact, Alejandra is a seasoned project manager and storyteller. In her most recent role, she supported underserved youth in pursuit of their post-secondary education at Fulfillment Fund and reimagined the organization’s brand identity to garner better engagement with their audiences. Notably, Alejandra contributed to internationally broadcasted documentary films such as Half the Sky and A Path Appears, working alongside Pulitzer Prize-winner Nicholas Kristof to strengthen women’s rights. Additionally, she successfully led the release of the documentary 500 Years, which premiered at Sundance, advocating for social justice for Indigenous people.

Alejandra holds a master’s degree in international affairs with a concentration in development from the New School in New York and a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Kansas.
